Andrew Burke was born in Melbourne, Victoria. His poetry has appeared in magazines across Australia, with minor forays into the English and American markets. Besides four previous volumes of poetry, he has had plays staged professionally, short stories and book reviews published, teledocumentaries shown in many countries, and he has contributed to poetry readings at sites from Singapore to Wagga Wagga. He has worked in many jobs – from orderly at a detox centre to company director – and presently teaches at university and TAFE, and co-ordinates writing workshops.
